Due to the comprehensive choice of medical insurance schemes now available, we recommend that you liaise closely with your insurance company throughout the course of diagnosis and treatment.
On admission, London Brain Centre patients are required to verify their insurance scheme cover and authorization is sought by the hospitals that the planned care you are going to receive is comprehensively covered by your policy.
Please bring with you your insurance registration documents and completed claim form, or alternatively proof of pre-authorisation, on your first day. If required by your insurance policy, please make sure that your claim form has been signed by your GP. If you do not have all your insurance details with you, you will be expected to settle your account in full on admission.
In order to meet the admission requirements of many insurance companies, we may need you to provide the date when your symptoms first developed and the date that you subsequently visited your GP.
We have agreements with many Insurance companies and provided your treatment meets the terms and conditions of your Insurance policy, the Insurance Company will normally settle your invoice directly with the Hospital. However, if you receive any invoices from your Consultant after discharge, you will need to forward these to your insurance company for payment.
Please click on any of the referral options above to find out more about the referral service you wish to use or alternatively call us on 0207 483 5000 to facilitate your referral arrangements.
Please note that take home medicines and physiotherapy aids are not covered by private medical insurance and you will therefore be presented with a bill where applicable. Also, we regret that once these items have left the hospital premises a monetary refund cannot be given.
Going into hospital is a worrying prospect at the best of times, but if you are paying for yourself, your anxieties can be increased if you are unsure about how much your treatment is going to cost.
Self Pay Care offers a solution to this problem. We have over 600 procedures where we can give you a guide price at the outset - this includes accommodation, nursing, theatre fees, surgeon and anaesthetist fees, drugs and dressings. Treatment under Self Pay Care is dependent on a Pre-assessment, after which you will be sent an offer letter detailing exactly what is included in your Self Pay Care package.
If you decide to go ahead with treatment under this scheme, we then ask you to let us have your payment on or before admission. Generally, you will then only be asked to pay for personal expenses such as telephone calls whilst you are in hospital. These will be charged to your account for payment before leaving hospital.
Self Pay Care is offered at the discretion of the hospital and may not be available in all instances. If we are not able to offer you a Self Pay Care package, the hospital will generally be able to offer you an alternative Self Pay option.
To find out whether your treatment is available under a Self Pay Care package or for a no obligation estimate please call our Enquiry Helpline.
