Critical Care

Many private hospitals are unable to provide complex brain surgery because, unlike the The London Brain Centre at the Wellington Hospital, they do not have adequate Critical Care facilities.

Most London Brain Centre patients who are admitted for surgery will spend some time in critical care after their operation to ensure that they are completely stable before returning to the neurosurgical ward.

When patients are critically ill, there should be no question about the resources they need and no excuses about a lack of capacity. The Wellington Hospital provides an unquestionably high standard of critical care, specialist expertise and technology, whatever the time of day or night or day of the week!

Within the Wellington's Critical Care Unit our team of Consultant Intensivists, led by Dr. Adrian Steele and Dr. Simon Ashworth, provide a round the clock service. All Consultants have strong links with renowned London teaching hospitals and are supported with 24-hour resident medical cover by an Intensivist Resident Medical Officer backed up by a specialist nursing team and a high tech, state of the art, unit.
